MEPCO Bill Information

The company dispatches bills to the customers on the 15th of every month. If you do not get your bill copy or lose it somewhere, you can claim a copy of your bill from the nearest division office. You can also download a duplicate bill online and take a printout to pay the bill.

You can check your bill every month to see the meter reading date, the amount to pay, the bill issue date, and the added surcharges in case of late payment. Procedure for Transfer or New Connection

In order to transfer your connection or get a new connection altogether, you can either apply online or go to the nearest office and get the application form.

The form is easy to fill. Fill the fields with the appropriate information, upload the scanned copies of the required documents and apply online for the new connection. You will choose the type of electricity connection and select MEPCO in the Distribution Company list.

Here is a step-by-step guide for a new MEPCO connection:

1. Fill the online application with the right information.
2. Upload scanned copies of the required documents
   1. Undertaking by the applicant
   2. Proof of ownership
   3. Power of attorney in case of more than one owner
   4. NOC if you are a tenant
   5. Attested copy of applicant’s CNIC
   6. Attested copy of CNIC of two witnesses (not applicable for single-phase connection)
   7. Duly signed copy of the concerned tariff
3. Submit the form and get its printout.
4. Attach copies of all the required documents with the application form.
5. Send the application form along with copies of the required documents to the concerned office.
6. After verification of the documents, you will receive a demand notice
7. Pay the amount on the demand notice in the bank
8. Submit the copy of paid demand notice to the concerned office
9. After the payment of demand notice is verified, the meter connection will be installed.

MEPCO Bill Tariffs

A MEPCO bill includes several taxes that are mentioned on the bill copy. The tariffs include:

TR Surcharge

TR means Tariff Rationalization Surcharge. This is the GOP and NEPRA tariff difference. It will be payable by the GOP as a “Subsidy,” if the difference is positive. If it is negative, MEPCO will pay to the GOP as “Inter DISCO Tariff Rationalization Surcharge”.

FPA

FPA means Fuel Price Adjustment. The FPA amount goes to the fuel pricing of rental power companies that make electricity from crude oil. This amount in the bill comes when there is fuel price fluctuation.

FC Surcharge

FC stands for Financing Cost. MEPCO consumers are charged 43 paisa per unit as FC Surcharge, in order to collect debt servicing of the Power Holding Private Limited.

QTR Tariff Adj/ DMC

It is a quarterly tariff adjustment amount. MEPCO consumers have to pay this amount every 3 months.

Deferred Amount

You have a choice to pay this bill in the same month or the next month. You will not have to pay an extra amount for late payment charges on a deferred bill. Your bills may include this amount in full or in installments.
