HESCO stands for Hyderabad Electric Supply Company. It is a public limited company that started its operation on 23rd April 1998. Hyderabad electric supply company (HESCO) is responsible for supplying electricity and related services in twelve districts and four divisions including Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Laar, and Mirpurkhas.
HESCO works in 4 operation Circles to ensure uninterrupted electric supply to 1,138,328 customers in 15 operation Divisions, 6 construction divisions, 67 operation subdivisions, and 5 M&T divisions.
Each circle is headed by a Superintending Engineer. Each division is managed by Executive Engineers and each subdivision is supervised by a Sub Divisional Officer. Also, every division has a Customer Services Officer.

HESCO BILL
HESCO dispatches electricity bills to every consumer under its area every month. In case you haven’t received this month’s bill, you can either go to the nearest HESCO office or download and print out a duplicate bill online. In order to check your HESCO bill online, you need to enter a 14 digit reference number after a click on the “Get you HESCO online Bill Duplicate” button below.
Here you can find HESCO bills for residential, industrial, or commercial electricity connections. Simply enter the 14 digit reference number in the field and your bill will appear on the screen within a few seconds.

HESCO Disconnection Policy
Hesco can disconnect premises on the following grounds:
- The consumer is involved in the theft of electricity
- The consumer has failed to pay the electricity bills
- The consumer has illegally reconnected his electricity connection
- The load has been extended beyond the sanctioned load
- The consumer has failed to provide a fresh bank guarantee within 30 days of the expiry of the previous bank guarantee
- The consumer has misused tariff or has been using electricity for a purpose other than for which the connection was sanctioned
- On consumer’s request for disconnection

HESCO Reconnection Policy
HESCO will reconnect the disconnected premises on the application of the consumer. The reconnection is subjected to the following conditions.
- Clearance of all partial payment/pending dues as allowed by the distribution company
- Fixed/minimum charges have been paid

HESCO Detection Policy
To ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity, HESCO buys electricity from independent power producers. HESCO sustains heavy losses due to theft of electricity hence it arranges checking. Detections are charged to those who are found involved in meter tampering and theft of electricity as a result of checking.
HESCO will raise a detection bill when:
- A hole in the meter is detected
- If the meter is tampered with or slowed
- The consumer is found in the theft of electricity through loops/shunts on the terminal box.
- If the stolen energy is less than 1000 units, FIR may not be registered.
